To help with our production group and to gather some more information and details about our production, I made a few mood boards as a way to make our ideas more visual and clearer. I made 1 mood boards for the location and themes and then another mood board for props and then another 3 mood boards for the costumes for each character.
Themes and location:
For the location for our opening sequence, using a small, old, eerie house would be very ideal. The Lodge boarding house on the school campus would work very well and would be ideal for our production / opening sequence, as it fits the criteria we as a group are hoping for. The theme for our opening sequence is dark, eerie, on edge and a sense of high suspense, therefore I have used dark and eerie images on this mood board to portray these themes and to put them into a visual aspect. These are my ideas of the themes and location I would like to use / portray.
Characters mood board:
Woman FBI agent - Matilde:
We as a group are hoping to create / portray our female FBI agent as a strong and dominant female lead character. The use of this character dressing in a suit and coming across as strong minded makes it more clear to the viewer, what her role is and what she is capable of. The use of this character holding a gun also makes it clear to the viewer that this is an FBI agent and not a police women. We are also playing with stereotypes throughout this opening sequence by having the only female character, the strong and fully put together character throughout the sequence. This is my idea on how I would like this female FBI agent character to come across as and the effect I am hoping to illustrate.
Male victim - Bashy:
This character is going to be dressed in a young looking aesthetic to portray the age we are hoping to illustrate for this character, which is a young boy. As the female FBI agent is walking through the house there will be photo frames around the house - of the young victim and his family - this provides information that this is a family home and the young boys' house. There will be blood around the boy to show the boys injuries and how he has been hurt by the intruder. This is my idea of how this victim will look like and come across as.
Attempt murderer - Adam:
This character is not going to be dressed in a stereotypical murderer outfit (all black), this character is going to go against the stereotypes and will be dressed in a 'normal' looking outfit, he will also be holding the knife that he has used to hurt the young boy and this knife will have 'blood' on it. This is my perspective of how I would like this character to come across and look like.
